This is ma-ru

MA-RU is an extraordinary design studio located in the bustling heart of Jakarta, Indonesia, and we are setting a blazing trail in the realms of architecture, interior design, urban design, product design and landscape architecture. MA-RU was founded and established by Zenin Adrian and Leila Veruschka Makarim. MA-RU's vision is to make the world a better place through design.

Our approach

We view design as the epicenter of convergence—a thrilling intersection where imagination meets practicality. Instead of compartmentalizing design aspects like architecture, landscape, history, social systems, and codes, they blend them harmoniously to craft designs that are both sustainable and visionary.

But here's the real kicker: we go above and beyond. We don't just offer design services; we offer a unified design experience. Whether it's crafting urban masterpieces, curating exquisite interiors, pioneering groundbreaking product design, or redefining the future of architecture, MA-RU is your one-stop creative destination.

We extend our collaboration with other offices

In 2019, MA-RU collaborated with Veritas Design Group and embarked on a remarkable journey, taking part in the Indonesian New Capital Competition (Nusantara). One of our entries, "Kota Seribu Galur" (A Thousand Thread), landed in the prestigious Third Place! We had the honor of presenting this design to none other than President Joko Widodo and a panel of esteemed judges. It's not just about buildings; it's about creating a symbol of Indonesia's advanced civilization, a blueprint for environmental sustainability, and a legacy for future generations.
